When I realized it was my turn to write this week's blog post, countless ideas came to mind. There were so many topics I wanted to explore, but none seemed to capture what I felt inspired to share fully. As I reflected and prayed, I kept circling back to one unifying theme—the CHAMP mindset.

CHAMP stands for Community, Hospitality, Accountability, Meaningful Work, and Prayer—a set of values that not only guide how we live and work but also shape how we grow into the people we're meant to be. In the busyness of life, it's easy to lose sight of the principles that ground us. The CHAMP mindset serves as a powerful reminder to focus on what truly matters.

Let's dive deeper into each aspect of this mindset and how it can transform our approach to work, relationships, and faith.

Community

Moving to a new city can feel daunting, but having a community of believers has been one of the greatest blessings of this transition. I've been spurred on and encouraged by an incredible group of people who embody different traits of God so beautifully.

Each person brings unique gifts to the table, representing a facet of God's character:

Mary Spencer reflects God's servanthood.
Abby shows God's intentionality.
SB radiates God's joy.
Faith demonstrates God's listening ear.
Carpenter embodies God's steadfastness.
Ari offers God's wisdom.
Joe resembles God's justice.
Parker reflects God's patience.
Stephen shares God's companionship.
Brooks models God's loyalty.

Doing life with these individuals has reminded me that we are all part of the body of Christ, each contributing something essential and beautiful. I am beyond grateful for this group of people and our life-lasting friendships!

Hospitality

Living with the Gaw family has been such a joy and an immense blessing. Their open hearts and welcoming home have inspired me to one day extend the same generosity. They've shown me what it means to steward what the Lord has given us—not clinging to what's "ours" but using it to serve others.

Hospitality is a tangible expression of God's love. Sitting down to share a meal with the Gaws and talking about anything and everything is one of my favorite parts of the Fellows. It's such a gift to learn about each other's lives, laugh together, and dive into meaningful conversations.

Accountability

I've experienced firsthand the truth of Proverbs 27:17: "As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another." Being surrounded by people who hold me to a higher standard has been humbling and life-giving.

This group challenges me to grow spiritually, emotionally, and relationally. They remind me of the importance of living with integrity and aligning my actions with my faith. Accountability isn't about perfection; it's about pursuing Christ together.

Meaningful Work

In this season, I've been learning what it looks like to live out my faith in the workplace. It's not always easy to balance ambition with a Christ-centered perspective, but meaningful work is about more than achieving success—it's about glorifying God through our efforts.

I'm discovering how to integrate faith into my vocation, finding opportunities to serve, encourage, and grow in Christ, even in professional settings.

Working at The Budd Group has been a truly enriching experience. It's evident that it's a God-honoring business, and I've been so grateful for the opportunity to learn from a team that values integrity and excellence. Beyond the work itself, I've built great friendships with coworkers who are at different stages of life. They are not only skilled mentors but also genuinely care about my success, offering encouragement and wisdom along the way. Not a day goes by where I'm not belly laughing—I am truly grateful to be in a workplace filled with so much joy. It's been a blessing to work alongside such kind, supportive people who want to see me thrive both professionally and personally.

Prayer

Prayer has become the lifeline that draws me closer to God. It's a reminder that we are never alone, no matter what challenges or joys we face. Through prayer, I've learned to lay my burdens at His feet and listen for His voice in the stillness.

God invites us to draw near, and in doing so, we experience His peace and guidance. Prayer is not just a practice; it's a relationship. I am excited and expectant of the ways the Lord has and will continue to move in my life this next year!

Living the CHAMP Mindset

The CHAMP mindset has been a compass for my heart, reminding me of the values that anchor my faith and daily life. Community, hospitality, accountability, meaningful work, and prayer are more than just words—they are tools for building a life that honors God.
